TAA Triacetonamine
Triacetonamine (TAA, 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidone) is the most fundamental starting intermediate for hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), produced by the condensation of acetone with ammonia. Through reduction, amination and N-substitution it yields a family of hindered amine intermediates (tetramethylpiperidinol, pentamethylpiperidinol, tetramethylpiperidylamine, etc.), which are further converted into mainstream HALS such as 770, 944 and 292.
