Making materials last longer
For more than 30 years Beijing Tiangang Auxiliary has focused on the R&D and production of light stabilizers, UV absorbers, antioxidants and functional masterbatches. Additives are a tiny fraction of any formulation, yet they decide how long a material lasts under UV, sulfur compounds, oxidation and flame-retardant conditions — and this is the whole of Tiangang’s business.

Tiangang covers general-purpose additives for plastics and coatings, plus formulated packages customised for specific applications. Running through all of it is one theme: polymer anti-ageing — from primary antioxidants to light stabilizers to UV absorbers, a complete formulation picture.
Light stabilizers and UV absorbers for plastics
HALS, benzotriazole UV absorbers and formulated packages covering agricultural film, automotive, appliances, cable, rotomolding, textiles, artificial turf and solar. Tiangang offers established general grades (HS-944, HS-950, HS-770, UV-326~329, UV-P) as well as proprietary IP grades (XT-8, HS-362, HS-625 and others).
Antioxidants
Primary antioxidants, secondary antioxidants and photo-thermal stabilizing components complete the anti-ageing picture. Tiangang positions AO-1010 / AO-1076 / AO-168 / AO-B215 as components within formulated packages, and has also developed its own polymer processing aid AO-427, which solves plate-out and batch color variation caused by poor dispersion.
Light stabilizers for coatings
Weathering systems for industrial, architectural and powder coatings, with control of color shift in the early stage of film formation. The applicable standard is the GB/T 23987 series (xenon-arc for coatings). Tiangang handles this separately from the GB/T 16422 series used for plastics, depending on the customer’s substrate.
Functional masterbatches and specialty chemicals
Masterbatches and formulated systems tailored to the customer’s substrate and process, ready to feed directly, which reduces formulation and process tuning costs. Tiangang’s masterbatch platform (MB0607 series, TGUVFQ2001PE, MB6250/6251, MB570-20PET) is a direct engineering answer to plate-out. The specialty chemicals line covers light stabilizer intermediates and custom synthesis.

Many suppliers in this industry act as traders: they buy, repackage and rebrand, and the technical know-how stays with the original plant. When a quality problem or a formulation upgrade appears, they often cannot respond.Tiangang takes a different route: it holds its own technology from light stabilizer intermediates through to finished formulated packages, with proprietary IP and invention patents on several grades. The practical difference is that Tiangang can explain the mechanism behind a customer’s weathering failure instead of simply recommending the next grade.

Home of the R&D center and the application technology center, and of two jointly recognized platforms: the China Plastics Weathering Technology Laboratory and the China Light Industry Plastics Weathering Engineering Technology Research Center, where customers receive formulation optimization and weathering assessment. It is also the site of the Beijing outdoor exposure test station.
Gu’an, Hebei · 150 mu
Tiangang’s main production base, with a complete manufacturing and quality control system and full DCS process control. It is Asia’s first integrated 10,000-tonne light stabilizer finished product and intermediate base (first phase on stream in 2011).
Cangzhou Lingang · 300 mu
In the national-level Lingang Economic Development Zone under park-level safety and environmental control, well suited to supplier audits by major customers. Combined annual capacity is 50,000 tonnes of light stabilizers and intermediates, with a high-end additive line built in joint venture with Clariant of Switzerland.
R&D and testing: turning experience into deliverable dataR&D and Testing
Tiangang’s R&D team of more than 40 PhDs, master’s graduates and senior engineers covers the full path from bench scale through pilot to commercial production, with long-term cooperation with institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The corporate R&D center was recognized as a Beijing Enterprise Technology Center (provincial level) in 2013, and several products have won provincial, ministerial and industry science and technology progress awards.
The testing laboratory runs xenon-arc weathering chambers (WOM), QUV accelerated weathering testers, thermal-oxidative ageing ovens, HPLC, GC, UV-Vis spectrophotometry and thermal analysis, enabling quantitative measurement of molecular weight distribution, residues and thermal stability. The Tiangang testing center holds CNAS accreditation, and its reports are accepted in more than 100 economies under the ILAC-MRA framework.

Quality: numbers you can verify batch by batchQuality
Tiangang operates a full-process quality assurance system to ISO 9001, from raw material and intermediates to finished product. Key indicators are tested and retained batch by batch with full traceability, and a COA ships with every batch. Tiangang was certified to GB/T 19001-2000 / ISO 9001:2000 in January 2004 and completed production safety standardization certification in 2014.
Tiangang’s quality floor: additives are a small dosage, but fluctuation in their indicators directly changes how a customer’s finished product performs outdoors — so Tiangang treats batch consistency as a non-negotiable quality floor. For HS-362, figures such as Mn > 2000 and stability above 350°C after 10% weight loss come from batch-by-batch measurement, not from marketing copy. See Quality Assurance.
Two verifiable field casesProven Applications
HS-950 in HDPE floating PV pontoons extends service life from 3–5 years to 10–20 years.The work received the 2023 Ringier Technology Innovation Award. Floating PV pontoons face permanent immersion, sun and salt spray at the same time, and a crack out on the water is extremely hard to repair — one of the harshest weathering environments there is. The case has a third-party award, a clearly defined application and a quantified range: for a materials company that has to answer for service life to asset owners, insurers or investors, a third-party endorsed life figure carries far more weight than any internal test report.

In greenhouse film field trials with XT-8, mechanical property retention stayed above 50% after 38 months.The normal replacement cycle for agricultural film is 1–3 years, so 38 months spans the full service cycle of most products. The figure therefore has real reference value rather than being an ideal number from accelerated laboratory conditions.
