Dalian Chemical Research Institute's New UV Absorber Project Receives National Funding

Dalian Chemical Research and Design Institute has successfully developed a new UV absorber emulsion (UV-FAST DL), whose indicators meet the requirements of polyester, modified polyester and their blended fabrics, and whose performance reaches the level of the American Huntsman product UV-FAST HLF. As living standards continue to improve, people have higher requirements for the UV-protection performance of fabrics. The successful development of this product can meet the UV-protection requirements of polyester, modified polyester and their blended fabrics.
Dalian Chemical Research and Design Institute's research project on new UV absorbers for functional fibers has once again received funding from the Ministry of Science and Technology's 'Special Fund for Technology Development Research by Research Institutes.' Previously, the institute's newly developed new process for the engineering-plastics UV absorber UV-234 synthesis received 1 million yuan in national R&D funding. It is reported that after the completion of the new UV absorber research project for functional fibers, it will break the foreign technological monopoly and have good economic and social benefits.

Dalian Chemical Research Institute has been committed to the research of new UV absorbers since 1999. At present, the institute has applied for 2 national invention patents in this field and is forming a series of products.

The new UV absorber UV366 for functional fibers, as a high-performance auxiliary for polymer materials, is applied in anti-UV textile fibers and superfine fibers, which can greatly improve the grade and product performance of the products and promote the development of my country's functional fiber industry. The engineering-plastics UV absorber UV234 has the characteristics of low volatility, good compatibility and stability, can prevent loss during high-temperature processing, and is widely used in engineering-plastics processing. UV234 is especially suitable for engineering plastics that usually need to be processed at high temperatures.

The series of new UV absorber products developed and produced by Dalian Chemical Research Institute have formed characteristics and advantages, enhanced the competitiveness of my country's UV absorber products in the international market, and have been exported to many countries. Due to the adoption of new process routes, Dalian Institute avoided the use of toxic and harmful solvents in the production of the series of new UV absorber products, solved the 'three wastes' (waste gas, waste water, solid waste) discharge problem, and at the same time the production has the characteristics of mild conditions, high reaction yield and low energy consumption.
