Tiangang UV Stabilization Technology Makes Plastics Last Longer

Beijing Tiangang Auxiliary is a leading enterprise in the production and R&D of weather-resistant additives in China. At the 2012 CHINAPLAS China International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition, Liu Gang, business development manager of Tiangang, was interviewed by a reporter from CPRJ China Plastics & Rubber.

    Liu Gang explained that the company's main exhibits at this exhibition were light stabilizer series products, used to improve the weather resistance of plastics, mainly for outdoor plastics, extending the service life of outdoor plastics and preventing loss of mechanical strength, discoloration, yellowing, and surface aging. The company can launch specific dedicated products for different customers and different fields. The company's products cover a wide range of fields with broad applications, such as agricultural greenhouse film, engineering plastics, non-woven fabrics, woven bags, and solar film.

    Liu Gang stated that Tiangang has gone deeper in the field of light stabilizers, not merely providing a product. For example, many customers are very professional in specific fields, but may lack rich experience in the narrow subfield of weather resistance; Tiangang will support customers by providing professional solutions based on their specific applications—such as how long they will be used outdoors—combined with experience and proprietary products. “Tiangang also assists customers with basic aging-performance evaluations; Tiangang has artificial accelerated-aging testing equipment, and these time-consuming, cost-incurring tasks are all carried out to assist customers.” “Tiangang is a high-tech enterprise focused on R&D, and will launch products with proprietary chemical structures, different from conventional general-purpose products, achieving some special application effects in specific fields.”

    Talking about the company's market, Liu Gang said: “Overall, agriculture is relatively stable, electronics and electrical appliances have slowed somewhat, and others are still very close to the overall industry trend. Now many domestic products are moving toward higher-end applications; although the total volume of articles has not grown, the share of high-end products is increasing, and that share is related to additives. So the market is still in a state of growth.”

    Regarding future development, Liu Gang believes that additives are closely related to downstream products; when downstream products develop, the additive industry develops with them, so it depends more on the downstream development situation. In addition, Liu Gang introduced that the company has invested in and built a new light-stabilizer production base in Hebei Province, hoping to start production within the year, and believes it will become a production base with considerable influence worldwide.
