Light Stabilizer HPTHexamethylphosphoric triamide

Properties and Uses: This product is a colorless or pale-yellow transparent liquid with a faint fishy taste. Density 1.0253–1.0257 g/cm³ (20°C); freezing point 27°C; boiling point 116–117°C (1.48 kPa); refractive index 1.4582–1.4589 (20°C). Soluble in polar and non-polar solvents, anddioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate, triphenyl phosphite, and other common plasticizers, and can be miscible in any proportion.

This product can be used as a light stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It imparts excellent outdoor anti-aging performance to articles, hence its name as a high-efficiency weather-resistance agent for PVC. Adding 2–5 parts of this product to PVC film not only significantly improves weather and cold resistance but also lowers the processing temperature by about 10°C. In addition, it serves as an excellent solvent for polyamide, polyurethane, urea-formaldehyde resin, polyphenylene sulfide, and many other polymer materials.

Safety Notes: This product is non-toxic, but must not be used in articles that contact food, and skin contact should be avoided.

I. Main Uses of Light Stabilizer HPT:

It effectively absorbs ultraviolet light at wavelengths of 270–380 nm, and is mainly used for PVC, polystyrene, unsaturated resins, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, polyethylene, ABS resin, epoxy resin, cellulose resin, and more; suitable for photosensitive materials such as color film, color rolls, and color photo paper, andpolymer materialsand many other fields; especially suitable for colorless transparent and light-colored articles; a strong-absorption, high-performance ultraviolet absorber.

II. Outstanding Features of Light Stabilizer HPT:

Superb UV absorption; effectively prevents UV damage to skin and carcinogenicity, greatly improving the product's anti-aging performance. It hardly absorbs visible light, making it the preferred UV absorber for colorless transparent and light-colored articles; non-flammable, non-corrosive, with good storage stability; good compatibility with various polymers, with long-acting anti-oxidation and anti-yellowing performance, and can be used together with ordinary antioxidants; extremely high safety.

III. Technical Indicators of Light Stabilizer HPT:

Appearance: pale-yellow powder. Melting point: 138°C–141°C. Ash: ≤0.05%. Volatiles: ≤0.1%. Light transmittance: 460 nm ≥95%; 500 nm ≥97%. Solubility: soluble in benzene, toluene, styrene, and other solvents; slightly soluble in ethyl acetate and petroleum ether; insoluble in water.

IV. Usage Method of Light Stabilizer HPT:

General dosage is 0.1–0.5% in thin articles and 0.05–0.2% in thick articles. For other process conditions, the addition level is 0.05–0.3%.
