Application of Light Stabilizers in UV-Curing Resins

UV-curing coatings are a green and environmentally friendly type of coating that solves the problem of volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from traditional coatings. During the curing of UV-curing coatings, adhesion is one of the most basic indicators for evaluating coating performance. A new blended light stabilizer EVERSORB UR210S was developed for UV-curing coatings. Using design of experiments (DOE), the adhesion of different light stabilizer products and UR210S in UV-curing coatings was studied. Adding UR210S does not affect adhesion in UV-curing coatings; a cross-cut test still shows 5B. In addition, laboratory artificial accelerated ageing tests show that increasing the effective concentration of UR210S in UV-curing coatings enhances weathering protection.
