Application of Hindered-Amine Light Stabilizers in PP Materials
Weathering (anti-ageing) modification of polymeric materials is usually achieved by adding low-molecular-weight light stabilizers such as blended hindered amine light stabilizers. These small molecules share some general drawbacks: they often lower the mechanical properties of the polymer; their low molecular weight gives them poor compatibility with the polymer itself, so they volatilize and migrate during processing and service; and being organic compounds they are themselves toxic and are also attacked by UV light. In response to the drawbacks of organic light stabilizers in practical applications, researchers worldwide are committed to developing new light stabilizers; high relative molecular weight, multi-functionality and reactive functionalisation are the inevitable development trends of organic light stabilizersHALS in PP applications -> HS-944 structural formula
